Following two weeks of gains, the national average price per gallon of diesel gasoline headed down this week, according to data issued by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA).
Falling 0.008 cents, this week’s average is $3.066, falling last week’s 0.001-cent increase. The national diesel average rises and falls have been uneven in recent weeks, falling four times over the last seven weeks.
On an annual basis, this week’s average is down 19.5 cents, which marks an improvement over last week’s 20.8-cent annual spread.
West Texas Intermediate Crude Oil is currently trading at $58.09 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
